TONE DEAF (Canada)

If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
-- Monty Python - Alway Look on the Bright Side of Life
The Life of Brian (1979). Brilliance!
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
That's the thing.
-- Monty Python - Alway Look on the Bright Side of Life

We can watch Monty Python movies a million times over, know every line, and still think it's funny.

Thanks for joining us! As a matter of a quick introduction, we are Tone Deaf (Canada), somewhat of a collective… an entertainment group… a corporation if you will. That sounds almost official. In reality, we’re a gaggle of hacks and fools… but somehow, we all work well together. Under the Tone Deaf (Canada) umbrella you’ll find Tone Deaf, Semi Tone, Sugar Dali, etc. We list our services on our Booking page… well, most anyways. We have a configuration for most any venue, most any taste… that is assuming you have good taste.

Here’s a brief history, our list of “firsts”. Tone Deaf, the band, started back in 2000, playing our first show in 2002. By 2004 we had our first member change, with Stan joining the mix. In February 2005 we did our first “Unplugged” show. In the spring of 2005, Mono Tone emerged… a solo version of Tone Deaf. By December that same year, Semi Tone, a Tone Deaf duet debuted, and Tone Deaf (Canada) was officially born.

In 2006, there was a three piece Semi Tone show (Tri Tone?), our second member change with the addition of Paul (also our resident Classical Guitarist), and our first three piece Tone Deaf show, both a “Plugged” and “Unplugged” version. 2007 found us bringing Marianne and Sugar Dali into the mix… Marianne joining Tone Deaf and Sugar Dali joining Tone Deaf (Canada). With Marianne doing guest appearances with Semi Tone later that year, by 2008, “Semi Tone with Marianne” and “Sugar Dali Trio” started to appear. We’ve toyed with “Semi Dali” and “Sugar Tone”, but we figure we’ve muddied the water enough!

With the five current members, we try to cover as many bases as we can. From one to four piece, male and/or female vocal, and all points in between. Classic guitar, production services, and as entertaining a website as we could muster. You can check out our Booking page for a list of our services, the individual band names for a description of each, and our The Band and The Music pages for some poop on us and what we do. Also there’s our Whas Up page for a rundown of what we’re up to and what we find amusing at the time, and for sheer entertainment purposes, you can click on our Are You a Drunkard and R U Bored pages. And once you’ve had enough of us, you can check out the Contact Us/Links page and find other websites to surf. Drop us a line while you're there!

Thanks for stopping in and checking us out. Make sure you add us to your favourites and check back often… things change fast around these here parts! Cheers!
